Drawing on national and international good practice, specific focus will be given to innovative and successful approaches to defining knowledge and skills needs, developing flexible learning programmes based on these needs, marketing to employers and employees, assessment and validation, funding (including employer co-funding), quality and widening participation.
Conference Scope and Themes
The conference will cover all HE levels from foundation degrees to postgraduate qualifications and will place particular emphasis on recruiting learners through the development of work-based progression routes from Apprenticeship and 14 – 19 diplomas.
As in previous years, a key theme of the conference will also be the role of further education colleges in higher education delivery. Therefore, in addition to workshops and plenary sessions for higher education delegates and partner organisations, a dedicated concurrent track is also being organised, focusing on strategic and practical work-based learning for Mixed Economy Further Education Colleges.
Conference Venue
The conference and conference dinner will be held at the Royal York Hotel, a four-star hotel ideally situated next to York Railway station.
