The Northern Universities Consortium for Credit Accumulation and Transfer (NUCCAT) is a federation of 44 Higher Education (HE) institutions and HE related bodies in northern and central England and Northern Ireland. The membership includes the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS), the Open University and some regional university associations.
Keynote Speakers:
Professor Peter Bush is Pro-Vice Chancellor at the University of Northampton and will discuss higher education’s readiness to respond to ‘employer needs’, such as curriculum content, timing, pacing and location of delivery, in the light of allegations of bureaucratic and drawn out quality assurance arrangements.
Doctor Liz Beaty, until recently Director of Learning and Teaching at HEFCE, and as such helped to shape HEFCE strategy in the area of employer engagement, is now the Director of Strategic Academic Practice and Partnership at the University of Cumbria, and will give the Conference a view of how this strategy can encourage universities to meet Government priorities through successful engagement with employers.
