City & Guilds work with a variety of HEIs to recognise and certificate the skills based elements of vocationally related programmes. The accreditation is through Senior Awards which are offered as part of City & Guilds royal charter qualifications. City & Guilds work with over 30 HEIs in the UK; primarily accrediting vocational skills for students on sandwich degrees, but also recognising skills in corporate and in house staff development programmes.

Individuals who then undertake these activities can then use the certifcation as a formal contribution to their CPD portfolio's for their relevant professional body, institute or organisation.
