The Training Gateway accepts 1000th Member
The Training Gateway, recent winner of the Times Higher Education award for Outstanding Employer Engagement Initiative, has recently accepted the 1000th member into its network.
The Training Gateway connects the business community to 1000 contacts in every UK university allowing them to procure high quality business focussed corporate and professional training.
The network, which won a Strategic Development Fund grant from the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), was launched in July and has already distributed over 300 tenders with requests from as far afield as Dubai and Brazil seeking training programmes for a wide variety of staff including air traffic controllers, oil exploration engineers and senior public sector managers.
Amanda Selvaratnam, CEO of The Training Gateway said “we’re delighted the network has proved so successful. UK Universities currently account for only around 5% of the UK’s total training spend of £33 billion and we recognise that it’s about time UK industry profited from the extremely high standard of education and training for businesses that our University system has to offer”.
The 1000th member, Lynne Stevens, Business Development Co-ordinator from The University of Hertfordshire says "Hertfordshire is an ambitious and entrepreneurial university, internationally business-facing and business-like in approach.
