Accreditation of non-traditional learning

CPD Network meeting 12th December 2008, York

This event showed presentations delivered by Academic staff from 3 HEIs with differing experiences of working with employers to accredit the learning from the workplace.  The emphasis within the presentations was on how existing training, whether from induction programmes or ongoing staff development, was incorporated into an academic programme.  This theme was continued by an overview of the fdf EBTA (Employer Based Training Accreditation) pilot scheme which works with employers to assess the content and level of learning of employees in order to provide advise on how this might be accredited by HEI’s.

The afternoon session included two interactive workshop facilitated to enable delegates to share experiences using case studies and consider ways of working with employers to accredit the learning.
