Calculating the cost of employer contribution 12th June 2009
Event
The theme of this workshop was “Employer Engagement: Calculating the Employer Contribution”
Overview
Jenny Bubb and Charlie Woodcock from the University of Chester delivered the key note presentation with a lively overview of the experiences from Chester covering both the issues and the ways in which have incorporated employer contribution in kind in order to meet the new HEFCE funding requirements.
The presentation from the University of Leeds covered the ‘science and art’ of costing and pricing in particular for non-accredited programmes along with a discussion of the sources of funding and how these can be tapped into. The experience from a large SDF project was shared by Teesside University who contextualized their work on employer engagement within their hub and spoke model. CRM was also outlined as this fits with a university wide flexible and responsive approach. The presentation from the University of Lincoln featured an overview of their approach to managing employer engagement in light of the employer base within the region and within a county who has the lowest HE participation rates in the Country.
Lots of questions were raised from other members who are addressing similar issues within their institutions leading to a lively discussion.Presenters
