Previous Trade Missions:

Saudi Arabia and Bahrain
27th November - 1st December 2016

At the end of November 2016 we took 18 delegates to meet potential customers in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.  We did mixture of group meetings with local companies, business-to-business networking and taster training events, where delegates had a chance to showcase a short taster training session.  Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with 50% of delegates saying they can more than 10 connections to follow up with and estimated business wins of £50,000 on average.

“I found the mission a fantastic way of getting into companies that otherwise would have taken a while to get into. The strength of the contacts met was great - these are the people you want to talk to.”

Matthew Scott, Anglo-Continental

“[The masterclasses were] just what we needed - it is hard for people to understand what we do unless we do it - this gave us a good opportunity - the most useful part of the trip”

Tim Deighton, Maximising Learning

Thailand and Vietnam
15th May - 19th May 2017

In May 2017 The Training Gateway took UK universities and training providers to Thailand and Vietnam to meet potential contacts looking for training and education services.

“Amanda provided a welcome opportunity to deliver an address to attendees on our services for those of us who did not deliver a masterclass.” Aspire GR Ltd

“Good, well planned trip, with the right amount of activities (couldn't really have fitted any more in without cutting others short, which would have spoilt them).” Anon

Education and Training Trade Mission to the Gulf
Dates: February 2018 (final dates to be confirmed in the next few weeks)

In February 2018 the Department for International Trade and the Training Gateway are taking an education and training trade mission to the Gulf. The trade mission will focus on meeting organisations who are looking for corporate training, technical training and educational partnerships from UK companies. We will be visiting Saudi Arabia and one other market.

Why the Gulf?

  1. The government has identified £30 billion of high-value opportunities for British businesses across 15 different sectors over the next 5 years in the Gulf.
  2. With 50% of Saudis under 25 years old Saudi Arabia has a large youth population without the technical skills that the private sector needs.
  3. The region is investing heavily in capacity building and improving the quality of the education sector giving rise to an increased need for teacher training, school and further/higher education leadership skills and international education partnerships
  4. UK and international qualifications are highly sought after in the region and offer excellent commercial opportunities for UK education and training organisations

Who should attend?

  • The mission will be centred on corporate training, technical training and educational partnerships. It will be an excellent opportunity to showcase your business to key HR directors and education buyers in the region.
  • This offer is open to all UK organisations who develop and deliver training programmes or who are looking for educational partnerships.
