Privacy Policy for Mailing Lists

Introduction

The Training Gateway is a member network for Education and Training Providers.   We source opportunities for our members from companies in the UK and worldwide, and promote our members’ expertise at networking events and exhibitions.  We also support our members by organising tailored trade missions, events and courses.

What information do we collect about you?

We collect the following information when you sign up to one of our mailing lists:

• Email address
• First Name
• Last Name
• Your mailing preferences
• Details of emails you have opened or clicked on

How will we use the information about you?

We will use the information collected about you to:

• send you updates on the activity you have specified interest in
• inform our future activities i.e. to determine which trade missions/events/courses we should run based on interest.
• analyse results and send targeted emails

If you have opted in to our emails, you may opt out at any time. You can either contact us at info@thetraininggateway.com, or click “unsubscribe” from any email.  Please note that clicking unsubscribe will only unsubscribe you from that mailing list, and if you have signed up to any other lists you will need to unsubscribe separately.  If you are unsure, please get in touch and we can remove you from all lists.

Your rights

Access to your information and correction

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal information held by The Training Gateway, please e-mail us at info@thetraininggateway.com or write to us at:

We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. You may ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate.

The right to be forgotten

You have the right to be forgotten, i.e. the right to ask us to delete all personal data we hold about you.  If you wish to do this, please send your request to info@thetraininggateway.com

Lodge a complaint

Where your data is held

We use the following systems to store and process your data:

• Mailchimp.  We use this to send out the emails and to manage subscriptions and unsubscribes to the mailing list.   We store email address, first and last name, as well as details on what emails you have opened or clicked on.
• The University of York’s secure servers. The Training Gateway is an independent project based at the University of York, and we use the University’s systems in our day-to-day work, which may include analysing data we have downloaded from the Mailchimp client. No personal information of any kind is shared with the University for marketing purposes.

Retention of your data

Your data will be retained whilst you have opted into the mailing list, and also if you choose to opt out so that we can retain the record of you opting out.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

We keep our privacy policy under regular review and we will place any updates on our web site.  This privacy statement was last updated on 29/12/2020.
