The Indian government are currently drafting their new national education policy and are considering granting universities the opportunity to offer full online degree courses. Online elements are currently restricted to 20% of a degree course, however it is thought the increase will assist with the country's aim to double its college and university enrollment from 25% to 35% GER (gross enrollment ratio) by 2035. The focus is to produce job-ready graduates which is an important priority for the government.
