Required is the delivery of a one-year accredited course in Early Childhood Education & Care. The programme should be designed to build on a student's earlier Level 6 Qualification in Supervisory Childcare with the aim being to develop and equip participants with sufficient knowledge and skills in early childhood education and care to enable them to make a professional contribution to early childhood education and care, nationally and internationally.

Programme accreditation should be at NFQ Level 7.
